Jane co-founded Veritage Group in early 1999. She has been involved in the private equity industry for over 30 years as
the editor of major industry publications, the founder of the first industry-wide conference, a co-contributor to the
first vintage year benchmarking analysis undertaken in private equity, as a strategic consultant and adviser to new
and established private equity funds, and most recently as a placement agent.
Jane began her career in the private
equity industry in 1978 when she joined Venture Economics which was at that time the only firm dedicated to
analyzing and reporting on the private equity business. For 12 years she was editor of “Venture Capital Journal,”
the industry’s trade publication, and of “Pratt’s Guide to Venture Capital Sources”, Venture Economics’ directory
of venture capital funds. Jane was the founder of Venture Economics’ Venture Forum, which was the industry’s largest
conference when she managed it from 1987 to 1993.
In addition, during her years at Venture Economics she managed
and moderated over 60 seminars for entrepreneurs on “How to Raise Venture Capital,” held throughout the U.S. From
1990 until she left Venture Economics in 1994, Jane initially managed and later provided services to the firm’s Investor
Services Division. In this role she reviewed and edited the offering memorandums of over 50 private equity funds;
collected, analyzed data and wrote the “Investment Benchmarks Report: Venture Capital,” Venture Economics’ annual
report on the performance of the venture capital industry, and worked with a broad spectrum of institutional
clients in benchmarking their private equity portfolios.
In 1994, she founded the Lakeside Group, also a private placement firm. Jane has been a speaker and moderator at
venture capital industry events and conferences for over 30 years.
Jane lives on a lake in Natick, MA with her teenage daughter, Samantha.
